I was assigned to 327 Marines in either late March or early April, 1968. I was wounded and sent home in May. can't remember the date nor the Company I was assigned to.

Admin reply: Larry,
Thanks for checking the 3/27 website. My records show that you were assigned to Mike Company, 3/27, in April 1968, but you are not listed on the May roster. I will add you to the roster on this site. Please contact me as I'd like your personal address, phone, etc. for our mailing list. We have a reunion scheduled for Milwaukee in Aug-Sept 2015. Semper Fi...Terry Rigney, Webmaster (My email & home phone number are listed on bottom of the Home Page of this website).

As the Anniversary date of May 18th quickly approaches, I feel an even more unusual sense of loss than I normally would this time of year. I want to say a special thank you to Dan Dreger, who has taken the time to reach out to me over the years and share his memories of my father. I cannot even begin to tell you what an impact it has made on my life to have my father's friends reach out and share their stories of him. Unfortunately, I do not remember my father, which makes the memories of him, that you share with me, that much more significant in my life. Without your memories, I would not know my father. I now work with Wounded Warriors and Disabled Vets, from this War and many times I will hear a Soldier or Vet say "I feel like I have no purpose in my life", that is when I share my story and how the 3/27 Marines reached out to the daughter of one of their fallen and gave her their memories. I share with these young Soldiers and Vets how what has been shared with me, will forever impacted my life. I encourage them, when they are up to it, to reach out to one of their fallen families and share there memories, as those memories will make a difference in their lives. So in closing, thank you to all of you who have shared memories of my father, and have encouraged me to pass it on.

I was in HqCo, 27th Marines deployed to Nam in Feb68. I was looking at the 3/27 History and couldn't believe I have the same pictures you show of the Marines getting ready to board the helicopter during operation Allen brook. I also have picture's of all the weapon's sent back from the front of all the wounded and casualties from heat stroke we unloaded off returning choppers, trailer loads. I also have many pictures of our base camp and LZ . Contact me if you would like to see them and possibly put on the web of the history of the 3/27

I was a 2511 in HQ Co.3/27. I couldn't wait to get to Nam and got my orders in Nov. 67. In country I was with 3/1. I heard some stuff about 3/27 when it finally got there, and don't know the truth. My curiosity has peaked again. I'll check back. Thanks

I recently lost my father Herbert A Jester from Williamsburg Ohio who was part of company k. I googled that info and came upon this website. The redheaded guy in the middle, third row, is my dad. His heroic acts during this period forever changed his life. In return for this he was a very decorated soldier and was the recipient of the Medal for Valor in 2010. Please respond if you would like to speak further of where these selfless young men ended up in this crazy world.

My daughter was researching a school assignment on Vietnam and it reminded me of a cousin (Nate Lee)who gave his life years before I was even born and I wanted to thank him and all who have served.
