I was on a C 141 STARLIFTER. Probably an "A" given the time period. They were fairly new. Long nylon bench seats down the middle and on the bulkheads. In field gear with M14. Utter misery.

Thank you Fred Steube for the items donated to the auction for Scott Graham. And for your $$ donation as well. The chemo is taking it's toll on Scott but he is a brave trooper. Any of you that has lost a loved one know what he and his family is going through. I have lost three. I also have four brothers with it, two of them have 5 tours in Vietnam between them, both have Agent Orange. Please keep the prayers coming. S/F, Brothers.

How many are remembering El Toro, President Johnson, the flight, the bar and bus trip and the San Miguel? At least we did not know what was coming. Semper Fi.

I was with Kilo Co. 3/27, MOS 0331.. Does anyone remember a Sgt. Batts...? I think that is how he spelled his name.

Admin reply: Sgt. Theodis E. BATTS was an E5 / 0331 when we flew over in mid Feb. 1968. He was due to rotate back to CONUS in March 1969. The Kilo Company roster lists him for every month between Feb. and the end of August 1968. His name is not listed on The Wall (there are three BATTS listed, but not him) so that could indicate good things for him. Perhaps a National Registry could help? Semper Fi, Terry

I am a Navy vet who served in the Viet Nam war off the coast on the USS Hancock. Recently I have been serving on the Veterans Commission in El Dorado Co and have had the pleasure of becoming friends with a member of the 3/27 Rich Buchanan. Thank you for your site which has done a very good job in giving us a look at history as it was.

So sorry to here about Steve Thompson, many of us have been looking for him for quite a while. I still have the letter that he wrote to me after I was wounded Aug. 2.
Steve "greeted" me as the acting CO of India Co. when I got to battalion May 24 as the only other officer in India Co. 1/Lt Parrish took over the company on the unit's second trip to GoNoi. A belated Semper Fi, Steve.

My father, Henry "Hank" Stringer was 3/27. He lives in Arkansas now, retired and enjoying life. I'm sure if he enjoyed computers, he would say hello!

Admin reply: Please send me your Dad's mailing address and I will add him to our mailing list, which is particularly helpful to those of us who "don't enjoy computers". We will be having another reunion in late August 2015 and we'd love to see him there. My email, home phone and mailing address are at the bottom of the home page of this website. Semper Fi, Terry Rigney, Webmaster 3/27.
