I must sadly report that our 3/27 Sgt.Major in Vietnam, Robert F. Snyder has passed away. According to his wife Karyl, he moved on to his final command station from his home in Allen, Texas on 8 Nov 2015. God's rest to you SgtMaj. On behalf of the unit, It was indeed an honor serving under you.

As most of you are already aware, the three 27 website has been disappointing in many critical ways over these past several months. I was at the end of my rope. People were having trouble getting into the Guestbook to leave a posting; There were major problems with myself being able to add or delete vital information; and valuable data has been omitted due to my inability to correct the problems that the existing software we have been using for a decade.

I wrestled with these problems on a daily - and a nightly - basis until I was ready to ask for volunteers to accept the responsibility...someone who would be much more computer savvy than me, but I still feel compelled by the duties that I owe to the late Bob Simonsen.

I was introduced to an idea today that may be the beginning of the end for the website's problems. We have begun a page on Facebook that will allow us all to be in closer contact in a much easier way, and all you need to do or be is to access Facebook. This should at the very least help those who are having trouble posting to the Guestbook, which has been a major issue. I also have finally discovered an "in" to adding (for example) names to the roster, info about the reunions and upcoming events,

If you do not have a Facebook account yet, please sign up for one. There is no cost, no commitments to meet and you don't even need to have Facebook "Friends" if you don't wish to do so. Our Group name is "Three 27 Marines RVN". Go to the page and request to be a member. Very simple. This is a group page which will act as a sort of guest book. This is the page you need to request to be a member. Once you are a member you can add others. In the Facebook search there should be a star next to the site.

The other page is blank at the present time. This is where I will post news about reunions, etc. I will post rosters and pictures. It will be a work in progress and hopefully be up and running soon.

I also wish to apologize for the massive, excessive delay in the delivery of the Milwaukee Reunion Challenge Coins and Covers. The problem lies with the producers of the material. Everything has been paid for and we have been PROMISED that they will be shipped to us very soon, and we will mail them to everyone who has ordered them. If the problem should persist, everyone's money will be refunded and legal action is not out of the question. I have been receiving Hate Mail for months from unhappy Marines, so trust me, nobody is more anxious than I am to correct this problem as soon as possible.

Semper Fi!
Happy Veteran's Day!

So best USMC Birthday Yet: Camp Margarita; 1967; dance in mess hall with girls from nearby college(?). On mess duty, got off after meal, drank quick (too quick) two shared small bottles of scotch; three beers later after at least one unforgettable dance; don't remember a thing. Next AM work in rack still in greens except for jacket; vomit on tie end. No idea who got me there. Semper Fi.
Happy Birthday.
